Onuga – easy entertaining that’s elegant and economical
If you’re entertaining friends, family and loved ones, there’s no better way to impress than with Onuga.

Made from herring, Onuga is the most delicious and cost effective alternative to caviar and the only faux caviar on the market made entirely from NATURAL INGREDIENTS.

OK, it’s not the real thing but given caviar’s prohibitive price tag (owing to threats to the survival of the Caspian sturgeon and UN export bans) caviar has become but a dream to most.

Onuga, on the other hand, not only looks like the real thing but it tastes delicious too and is available from supermarkets and deli’s at around 3% of the price of Sevruga caviar.

Onuga is so easy to use. Just pop some on top of blini (available in supermarkets or you could make your own), melba toasts or croustades with a little smoked salmon and crème fraîche for the perfect cocktail nibble. And because Onuga contains no colourings, you can prepare your canapés in advance without the colour running, leaving you time to get ready for your guests.

Recipe Idea
Onuga and Smoked Salmon Pancakes

200g self-raising flour
12 tbs milk
2 eggs
Pinch of salt
Smoked Salmon
Creme Fraiche
50g jar of Onuga

Put the flour, milk, eggs and salt into a bowl and mix well until smooth.

Heat the butter in a non-stick pan and drop dessertspoonfuls of the batter mixture to make each pancake. When the surface of each pancake is covered in bubbles, flip it over and cook until golden brown.

A 50g jar of Onuga retails at around 3.95 per jar a fraction of the price of Sevruga Caviar

Onuga is available in the chilled cabinet at Tesco, Sainsburys as well as selective food halls and delis across the country.
